The PARKSIDE MONTESSORI SCHOOL

Is a pre-school for children ages two and a half to five serving the families of Montclair, Glen Ridge and surrounding communities. Its directors have been operating the program for over 30 years. It is non-denominational and non-discriminatory.

REMINDERS

Our start time for Side 1 is 8:45 and for Side 2 is 9:00.

Entry time is very busy so please observe those times carefully as the Side 2 teachers from 8:45 - 9:00 are helping the Side 1 children with their morning transition and are sometimes not in the side 2 classroom before 8:55.

Thank you for your cooperation.

We urgently request that all clothing including ALL outerwear (some of which is new) hats, gloves or mittens, socks, underwear and extra clothes in the bag be clearly marked. Also backpacks, lunch boxes (INCLUDING THE INSIDE CONTAINERS) and water bottles should be clearly marked ON THE OUTSIDE OF EACH OF THESE. We know we have mentioned this a lot, but there are still some of these items that are unmarked. As we have said so often in the past, we cannot emphasize enough the difference this makes in creating peaceful transition times.

Parkside Store: We are currently offering Parkside logo items such as hats, tee shirts and sweatshirts in both adult and children’s sizes. Samples are hanging in our entry hallway. If you would like to order anything, you can do so by going to: parksidemontessori@printful.me

Montessori philosophy emphasizes child-led learning within a thoughtfully prepared environment. It focuses on fostering independence, intrinsic motivation, and a love of learning by allowing children to explore their interests at their own pace. The philosophy views children as naturally curious and capable of self-directed learning when provided with the right tools and guidance.

SPRING RECESS

We would like to reiterate the importance of marking your child’s OUTERWEAR, LUNCHBOX (on the outside), WATER BOTTLE, BACK PACK (on the outside), BOOTS AND ALL CLOTHING.

There are still many unmarked items, and we find it SO much more difficult at transitions. Spring will arrive this month which means warmer weather (we hope) AND new outerwear which should also be marked.
